House. Circa 1500 three bay cross passage house with smoke bay, converted into a lobby entrance house in the late C16 or early C17 when a chimney andi floor were inserted, refronted in brick and weatherboarding in C18 and extended by one bay to left c~850, refenestrated and with extensions to rear C20. Timberframed building refronted in render with some framing including diagonal brace visible to rear wall but left side wall of knapped flint with brick gall ting and brick dressings. Hipped thatched roof with central brick ridge stack and end chimneystack to C19 bay. Two storeys; four windows. C20 tripartite casements and gabled thatched porch on rustic supports. Int~rior has early C17 open fireplace with wooden bressumer and English bond brickwork, exposed spine beam and floor joists and internal partition walls. Jowled post and curved braces to first floor. Roof has two bays with clasped purlins, curved braces, queenpost and rafters with smoke-blackening to former smoke bay. Further bay has part roughly hewn poles and ridgepiece.
