Description

This is a headstone dedicated to Samuel Sankey, located about 1 metre south of the south-west corner of the nave of the Church of St Mary. It dates from the mid-18th century and is made of stone. The headstone features a shaped double head that is intricately carved with two skulls, hourglasses, and crossed bones. It commemorates Samuel Sankey, who died in 1741.
