Description
The Manor Steak House is a building that was originally two cottages, now functioning as a restaurant. It dates from the late 16th century or early 17th century, with a facade that was altered in the late 18th century or early 19th century. The structure is timber framed and clad with rendered brick, topped with a plain tile roof. It likely features a lobby entry plan with three bays and a stack bay, standing at one and a half storeys on a rendered plinth. The roof is hipped to the right, with a rendered ridge stack on the left and a brick stack off-centre to the right. The windows are irregularly arranged, consisting of three 16-pane glazing bar sashes set in flat-topped dormers, along with 20th-century ground floor windows in a similar style. There is a boarded door located in a 20th-century rendered porch beneath the stack. The rear of the building has later additions, and there is a 20th-century addition at right angles to the left that is not included in this description. Inside, there are exposed timbers of heavy scantling and an inglenook fireplace, although the interior has only been partly inspected. The building was formerly known as Mac Erin Guest House.
