Description
The Limes, also known as Nos 1 and 2, is a building dating from the late 18th century to the early 19th century. It is two storeys high and features weatherboarding on a stuccoed base, topped with a hipped tiled roof. The building has three windows facing northeast and two windows facing southeast, although the glazing bars are missing. The northeast front includes Venetian shutters on the windows. The entrance features a round-headed doorcase with a semi-circular fanlight and a flat cornice above, supported by brackets, with two steps leading up to the street. There is a projecting chimney breast on each side elevation. The Limes is part of a group that includes Cheriton Lodge (Nos 3 to 5) and Southlands Hospital (Nos 1 to 4).
