Description

Maxted Street Cottage is a house that likely dates from the 18th century. It is constructed of red and grey brick in a Sussex-type bond and features a plain tile roof. The building has two storeys and a plinth, with a steeply-pitched hipped roof. There is a red brick chimney on the rear slope of the roof towards the right end. The windows are irregularly arranged and consist of three-light casements. A boarded door is located behind a rustic porch under the chimney. To the right, there is a red and grey brick lean-to, and to the left, there is a two-storey 20th-century extension with a red brick ground floor, tile-hung first floor, and a plain tile roof. The interior has not been inspected.
