Description

St John's Hospital, located at 1253 High Street, was founded in the 14th century, but the current building dates from the 16th century and was altered in 1802, which is noted on the facade. The structure is two storeys high and constructed of ashlar stone with stone galleting. It features a hipped tiled roof and an off-centre chimney stack. There are three pointed windows, which were part of the alterations, and the west side of the building is tile-hung. St John's Hospital is part of a group that includes Nos 150 to 156 (even).
