Description
The King's Head Inn, located at 117 High Street, is likely two houses that were combined, as indicated by the differing roof levels. The eastern half dates from the 18th century, while the western half features an 18th-century front that conceals an older timber-framed structure behind. The building has two storeys and two windows on each side, topped with a hipped tiled roof. The eastern half is constructed of red brick and includes a modillion eaves cornice, along with a modern public house front on the ground floor. The western half has a ground floor made of stone rubble and red brick above, featuring a modillion cornice, a parapet, and an attic storey with one dormer. There is a trace of an overhang at the corner, and the west front is plastered. Both halves are missing glazing bars. At the rear, there is a section of two storeys made of painted brick, also with a hipped tiled roof. The King's Head Inn is part of a group with Nos 115 to 125 (odd).
