Description
The Old Town Hall, located at 30 High Street in Brechin, dates back to 1789, with alterations made in 1856. The building is constructed of ashlar stone and features raised quoins. It stands two storeys tall, with a gabled front facing High Street that includes a Venetian window above a Victorian shopfront.
On Church Street, the building has a four-window facade, highlighted by a central wallhead gable that is two windows wide, although the chimney has been truncated. The windows have been reglazed. Inside, the hall boasts a coved ceiling and a semi-elliptically arched recess that is flanked by Adamesque pilasters. The roof is slated.
