Description

Charlton Place is a pair of buildings dating from around 1840. They are three storeys high, with a basement and attics, constructed of brown brick. The buildings feature a slate mansard roof and a parapet with a dropped moulded cornice, which is present on No 301 only. Each building has three sashes with intact glazing bars. The first floor includes a cast iron balcony with a Greek Key design. The ground floor windows are round-headed, and the doorcases are also round-headed, featuring traceried fanlights. Nos 279 to 319, which are consecutive, form a group with these buildings.
