Description

Porthole Cottage is a mid to late 18th century building located on Griffin Street. It is two storeys tall with attics and constructed of painted brick. The cottage features a hipped roof with one dormer and a brick eaves cornice. A sun fire plaque is present on the exterior. There are three sash windows with intact glazing bars, set in moulded architraves. The doorcase on the right side has a moulded architrave, a flat hood, and a six-panelled door, where the top four panels are cut away and glazed. The building has a plinth and an extension to the left that is one storey high, featuring one sash window with intact glazing bars and an asbestos sheeting roof.
