Nos. 4 and 5 Portobello Court represent an early 19th-century pair of buildings. They are two storeys high with a basement, constructed of painted brick and have a tiled roof. No. 4 retains one sash window with original glazing bars, while No. 5 has an additional window. Simple, cambered doorcases are present. To the right of the pair stands an early 19th-century industrial building, with a ground floor of painted brick and a first floor clad in weatherboarding, featuring one sash window with original glazing bars. Nos. 4 and 5 form a group with No. 149A Middle Street.
