Description
This granary, located about 30 metres east of Uphousden Farmhouse, dates from the late 17th century. It is constructed of red brick in a garden wall bond variant and features a plain tiled roof. The building has two storeys, with a plat band and a double course dogtooth cornice at the hipped roof. The east front has a boarded door that is framed by a moulded surround. The brick bonding consists of one course of stretchers alternating with one of headers and stretchers, a style commonly found in the Minster-in-Thanet and Ash areas, known as Minster bond.
