Description

The house at Uphousden Farm is a 15th-century building that was re-clad in the late 17th century. It is timber-framed and now faced with red brick, and has a plain tiled roof. The house has a plinth and plat band, and the roof is hipped with a gablet to the right and a shaped gable to the left. A stack is located centrally to the right. The windows are irregular in placement; the first floor has four wooden casements, while the ground floor has two glazing bar sash windows and two wooden casements. A boarded door is situated to the right, covered by a flat hood supported on brackets. A half-hipped rear wing, also with a plinth and plat band and a basement, extends from the main structure. The interior includes a reported crown post roof and a hall of two full bays. Further details can be found in Igglesden, volume 18, pages 69 and 64.
