Description
These oasts, located about 50 metres south of Little Twitham Farmhouse, are a mid-19th century conversion of a 17th century building. They are constructed of red brick, with the central section featuring header bond. The structure includes a central stowage area with a square kiln to the left and two kilns to the right, all of which have been restored with cowls. The stowage is two storeys high with a loft, featuring a central hoist with vertically set boarded doors and two sets of cart doors on the ground floor. There are four wooden casements on the first floor and two on the ground floor. The interior is currently undergoing restoration but retains much of the early brickwork, especially on the rear wall of the central section.
