Description

This garden wall, located about 10 metres north of Spencer House, dates from the 18th and early 19th centuries. It is constructed of yellow stock brick and red brick. The wall stands approximately 2 feet high along the road front and extends about 30 feet on either side of a central single cast iron gate. The wall is terminated on both sides by brick piers that rise about 12 feet high, featuring stone cornices and acorn finials. The piers and the returned sections of the wall are made of red brick and are likely older, dating back to the 18th century, than the front range of the house.
