Description

"Queen Elizabeth's Pocket Pistol" is a 16th-century Flemish cannon mounted on a 19th-century gun carriage, set into a plinth of paving stones. The cannon is made of bronze and features intricate Renaissance motifs. The gun carriage was built by the Duke of Wellington in 1821 and is adorned with the Royal Arms, as well as motifs of shells, dolphins, and Tudor roses. The wheels are designed with spokes shaped like fasces, featuring fleurs-de-lis inside the rim, and lion heads decorate the axles.
