Description

The front boundary walling of No 57 Strand Street extends for a short section into Bowling Street. It is constructed of stone and flint, dating from the 16th and 18th centuries. The wall stands 7 feet high and is 36 feet long along Strand Street. In Bowling Street, it reaches a height of 7 feet 6 inches over a length of 18 feet, and 11 feet high over a length of 45 feet. The boundary walling at No 57, along with Nos 47 to 57 (odd), Nos 29 to 35 (odd) and their boundary wall on Harnet Street, and No 38 Bowling Street, form a group.
