Description
Canterbury Lodge is an early 19th-century lodge located on the east side of Coldred Road in Waldershare Park. The building is constructed of flint with buff brick quoins and a stack, topped with a slate roof. It features a Gothick style that leans towards Hindoo influences. The main structure is octagonal, with a rectangular wing attached. It is a single-storey building with a central octagonal stack. Each face has a cross window, which is surrounded by a painted ogee-shaped frame with fleur-de-lys finials. To the right of the roadside face, there is a Gothick panelled door, also in an ogee-shaped surround, accompanied by a three-bay wooden porch. The porch has ogee arches supported by round piers and a flat roof. At the rear, there is a single-storey wing with a hipped roof and a stack at the left end, featuring an ogee-shaped doorway located to the centre right.
