Description

Coldred Court Farmhouse is a house dating back to the 15th century, which was re-faced in the 17th century. It is constructed of timber frame and is enveloped in red brick laid in an irregular English bond. The house has a three-bay lobby-entry plan. It has a plinth, a plat band, and a roof with stacks clustered to the centre left and at the end right. There are three four-light, segmentally headed wooden casements on each floor. A plank and stud door with a segmental head is centrally located to the left, with an identical but blocked opening to the centre right. A catslide outshot extends to the rear, and a large gabled wing is also present at the rear. The interior reveals the full timber frame, which is freestanding within the brick skin, and includes an inglenook fireplace. The farmhouse sits on a moated manorial site adjacent to the parish church and an ancient earthwork.
