This is a mid-19th century building, altered since its original construction. It is two storeys high with a basement and has a stuccoed exterior. A modern double dormer has been added to the roof. The windows are sashes with only vertical dividers. The doorway has a simple surround. The building is part of a group with numbers 161 to 189 on the west side of Middle Street.
