Description
The property is a cottage row, incorporating an early 19th-century front range with an 18th-century rear range, and featuring 20th-century alterations. It is constructed of buff brick and partially painted brick, with a slate roof to the front range and plain tiles to the rear range. The building is two storeys high and has a hipped roof with chimney stacks located to the left and right, and to the rear left and right. The front features four segmental-headed glazing bar sash windows on each floor. Holly Tree Cottage has replacement windows dating from the 1970s. There are two round-headed panelled and half-glazed doors situated in the centre, alongside half-glazed doors within gabled porches on the left and right returns; Holly Tree Cottage has its entrance in a left-hand extension. The rear wing has kneelered gables. A two-storey extension from the 20th century is present, with a recessed garage at the left end (adjacent to Holly Tree Cottage), which is not of special architectural interest. Inside Holly Tree Cottage, original features include old four-panel doors, an original entrance door consisting of six panels with moulded edges, and a chimney with a ground-floor fireplace. The interiors of the other cottages were not inspected and the property is included for group value.
