Description

The water pump located to the rear of No 11 Cattle Market is a Grade II listed structure, dated 1859. It is made of cast iron, painted black, and designed in the style of earlier lead pumps. The pump features a vertical stanchion with a curved arm at the top, which ends in a large acorn shape. There is an outlet with a notch for hanging a bucket, although the arm is currently clamped down. This water pump, along with Nos 7 to 11, forms a group of listed buildings.
