Description
Japonica Cottage is a house dating from the late 17th century, with extensions added in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of red brick with a plain tiled roof. The original section is one storey and has an attic, standing on a plinth. A two-storey extension adjoins the left side. The hipped roof steps up towards the left, and incorporates two dormers. Chimneys are located to the rear left and centre right. The left side of the house contains a sash window on each floor, while the centre right has a sash window with glazing bars, and a wooden casement window, both with segmental heads. A rib and stud door is centrally positioned to the right. A catslide roof extends to the rear.
