Description

This is a 19th-century gas lamp mounted on a brick pier at the entrance to No 23 from Paradise Row. The lamp has been converted to electricity. It features a lantern with a square plan that is larger at the top than at the bottom, supported by four curved ogee braces. The sloping roof is adorned with anthemion foliage at each corner and ends in a bell-shaped vent topped with a scalloped cap and finial.
