Description
Oast Cottages is a row of cottages dating from the 18th century, with alterations and extensions made in the early 19th century. The cottages are constructed of red brick and feature a plain tiled roof. They stand two storeys high on a plinth, with a plat band and a dogtooth eaves cornice, and include a three-storey gable on the right side. There are stacks located at the left end, rear left, rear centre, and a range of three stacks on the right.
The right gable has a single Dering window, while the left side has a three-light leaded casement. On the first floor, there are four two-light Dering windows, and on the ground floor, there is one segmentally headed leaded casement to the left and three three-light Dering windows. The doorway to the left features six raised and fielded panels and is topped with a flat hood supported by brackets. Other entrances are located at the rear. The two end bays surrounding the doorway likely formed a symmetrical house front in the mid-18th century before the later extensions and alterations.
