Description
No. 82 High Street is an early 15th-century timber-framed building with a long frontage facing Bullace Lane. The ground floor features modern shop windows, while the first floor is plastered and extends over the ground floor on brackets. It has a hipped tiled roof and sash windows, some of which still have their original glazing bars. The building has two storeys with two windows facing High Street and four windows facing Bullace Lane. At the back, there is a small additional contemporary section that is two storeys high with one window and a lower elevation. This part has exposed timber-framing with painted brick infilling, while the remainder is weather-boarded and plastered. On the east side, facing the churchyard, there is a red brick chimney breast that was added in 1465. To the north, there is an early 19th-century extension that is two storeys tall, with a painted brick ground floor and a weatherboarded first floor, topped with a tiled roof and featuring six sash windows. Nos. 78 to 82 (even) and the Church of the Holy Trinity form a group.
