Description

The remains of a Roman town house are located at 1 St George's Street. This site features parts of the structure that include tessellated pavements dating to around 300 AD and a hypocaust system. The walls are made of brick and stand approximately 3 feet high, supported by 13 pillars. The site is scheduled as an Ancient Monument.
