Description

The sewer vent column, dating from around 1870, is located on Mickleburgh Hill in Herne Bay. It was manufactured by W Macfarlane and Co. in Glasgow. The structure is made of cast iron and consists of a circular column formed from two lengths of pipe. The lower section has a wider base, while the upper section features a Corinthian column design topped with a ball fitting and four-way outlets.
