Description

This early 19th century oast house is located at the rear of Melrose and Greenfields on Pean Hill. The building comprises two square kilns connected by stores, with a central gable housing a hoist and door. It has slated roofs with lead hips, though the cowls are now missing. Four windows retain their original glazing bars. The central section of the building appears to have been converted into dwellings. A modern concrete staircase leads to the first floor, and large doors are situated at the base of the kilns on the south side.
