31 Northgate is a timber-framed building that was refaced in the 18th century. It has three storeys and is mostly colourwashed, although the second floor features imitation timber-framing. The building has two hipped dormers on a tiled roof and two sash windows with intact glazing bars set in moulded architraves. There is also a shop front.
