Description

No. 30 Northgate is a timber-framed building that was refaced in the 18th century. It has two storeys and attics, with a colourwashed exterior and a tiled roof featuring two hipped dormers and a parapet. The front has two sash windows with verticals only and a later shop front. Inside, there is a unique feature: a miniature Regency theatre located in the back room of the house, which has a very narrow gallery on three sides built on slender columns, although this is now boxed in. Nos. 28 to 37 Northgate form a group.
