Description

No. 80 Castle Street is a building from the 17th century that was refaced in the 18th century. It has two storeys and is constructed of red brick, topped with an old tiled roof featuring two hipped dormers. The building has a wooden modillion cornice and two sash windows with verticals only. The doorcase includes a small hood supported by console brackets and a rectangular fanlight above a six-fielded panelled door. Inside, there is an early 18th-century staircase with turned balusters and some simple panelling on the ground floor. Nos. 68 to 77 and Nos. 80 to 82 Castle Street form a group.
