Description

Fordwich Farmhouse dates to 1588. It was originally a jettied building, though it never featured an open hall. At one point, it was divided into two cottages. The farmhouse is two storeys high. It has a timber frame with plaster infilling, but the front facing the road has been refronted with painted brick. The roof is tiled, hipped at the north end, and has a catslide to the rear. The road-facing elevation features two casement windows with three lights on the upper floor, and two modern windows with six mullion and transom lights below. There is a plain entrance door.
