Description
No. 40 St Margaret's Street is an early 19th-century building that stands three storeys tall with a basement, constructed of painted brick. It features a half-hipped roof covered with old tiles and has a wide wooden bracket cornice. The façade includes four cambered 19th-century sash windows and two string courses, along with a plinth. There are two round-headed doorcases with quoined surrounds; the left doorcase has six fielded panels, while the right doorcase has four ordinary panels and a semi-circular fanlight above. This building is part of a group that includes Nos. 38 to 42 St Margaret's Street.
