Description

70 and 71 Castle Street is a late 15th century timber-framed house that has been refronted but still features an overhang. The building stands two storeys tall, with the first floor faced with curved tiles and the ground floor made of brick. It has an old tiled roof and three 19th century sash windows. There are two early 19th century shopfronts and a central passageway. The rear elevation includes a brick extension with braces and is partially hung with curved tiles. This property is part of a group that includes Nos 68 to 77 and Nos 80 to 82.
