Description

These are a group of six houses, numbers 39 to 43 William Street, built around 1830 in Herne Bay. The houses are stuccoed and three storeys high, with a basement and an area. They have a cornice and parapet, with a string course above the ground floor. The original windows were six-pane sashes, and most of the glazing bars remain intact. Number 41 has an iron balcony on the first floor. The ground floor windows have been replaced with Neo-Georgian bow windows. Each house has a doorcase with a semi-circular fanlight above the door. These houses are part of a group that includes numbers 47 to 59, as well as the North and South School Rooms associated with Christ Church.
