Description
Old Knockwood, formerly known as Knockwood, is a 16th-century timber-framed house located on Woodchurch Road. The building features plaster infilling and stands two storeys high. It has a steeply pitched tiled roof with two large brick stacks. The first floor overhangs, supported by the protruding ends of the floor joists. Notable architectural details include curved brackets, diagonal braces on the first floor, and a bressumer that was originally horizontal but now slopes upwards in the middle and then down again. The house has five casement windows with original diamond panes, along with two blocked original window openings. The entrance features a doorcase with an obtusely pointed head.
