Description
Leigh Green Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from the late 15th century to early 16th century, with additional wings added up to the late 17th century and some re-facing in the 19th century, particularly on the front wing. The building is timber framed, with brick and tile hanging, and the first floor on the southeast elevation is partly weatherboarded. It features plain tile roofs and brick stacks.
The farmhouse consists of two parallel ranges; the front range has a half-hipped roof and a narrow external brick chimney breast on the northwest side. The rear range has a hipped roof with a gablet and mullioned windows. There is a long range at a right angle to the southeast end, which includes a tall ridge stack in the style of the 17th century and a gabled cross-wing with mullioned attic windows in tile-hung attic gables at the northeast end. The front elevation of the two-storey front wing has modern windows and a central porch, while the side purlin roofs complete the structure.
