Description

The stables to Finchden Manor date from circa 1670 and are a timber-framed building with a red brick facade. They are two storeys high, with a hipped tiled roof incorporating three hipped dormers and a wide bracket eaves cornice. The first floor has five mullioned windows, each fitted with small square panes. Adjoining the stables is a timber-framed barn, now faced with red brick, and featuring a tiled roof with five hipped dormers. Finchden Manor, with its gate piers, garden wall and stables, along with Maynard's Farmhouse and Priory Farmhouse (on the south-west side of Appledore Road), form a group.
