Description

Gillets House is a two-story building located on the north side of The Street in Smarden. According to Sir Charles Igglesden’s “Saunters through Kent with a pen and pencil,” the house was built in 1818 by Thomas Hinds. The ground floor retains its original glazing bars. A section of the ground floor has been built out to the west. A one-window-bay addition was constructed in the 19th century on the east end of the building.
