STONE-CUM-EBONY THE STREET 1. 5272 The Cottage and The Forge (formerly listed as The Cottage) TQ 92 BV 13/397 16.8.62. II GV

  1. L-shaped Cl6 or earlier timber-framed building refaced on ground floor with red brick (now painted) first floor tile hung. The first floor of the southernmost window bay of the west front oversails on the protruding ends of the floor joists, th ground floor below it painted, with a small Cl9 bay window. Hipped tiled roof. Unusually-shaped Cl7 twisted brick chimney stack. Casement windows. Two storeys. Two windows facing west, 2 windows facing south. This building was formerly used as the Parish Workhouse.
