Description
The Gate Lodge to the former Surrenden Dering, located 300 metres southeast of the Church of St Nicholas in Pluckley, is a mid-19th century lodge building. It is a single-storey structure with attics, constructed from squared ragstone laid endwise, and features a tiled roof with a clustered brick chimney stack. The gable end includes brick crow-stepped kneelers, quoins, and a stringcourse of bricks set diagonally. There is a blank attic mullion with a moulded brick surround. On the ground floor, there is a double stone mullioned window, characteristic of properties associated with Surrenden, along with a wooden doorcase.
