Description

This is a mid-19th century gate lodge situated about 250 metres south-west of Surrenden House, built of squared Kentish ragstone. It is a single storey building with attics. The roof is tiled, featuring a clustered chimney stack. A band of bricks is set diagonally on the gable end, above a blocked lancet window with a brick surround. Stepped kneelers adorn the roofline. The ground floor has a double lancet window with a painted brick surround, indicative of the distinctive "Dering windows." A simple doorcase is present.
