Description
Nos. 1 and 2 Clap Hill is a pair of houses dating from the 18th century, with a core that may be even older. The buildings are constructed of red brick and mathematical tile, likely covering a timber-framed structure, and feature a plain tiled roof. Originally designed as a lobby entry plan house, they stand two storeys high with an attic. The hipped roof has a gablet on the right side and merges with the adjacent property on the left. There is a central stack to the right and two hipped dormers.
On the first floor, there are four glazing bar sash windows, with three panes wide on the left and center left, a smaller three panes wide in the center right, and a four panes wide on the end right. The ground floor has three glazing bar sash windows, along with a wooden casement window to the left in a projecting raking outshot. The entrance features a boarded door to the center left and a panelled door to the center right, both topped with flat hoods supported by brackets.
