Description
The Walnut Tree Inn is an inn that dates from the 17th century or earlier, with some cladding from the 18th century. It features a timber frame set on a painted ragstone base and is clad with painted brick. The building has a plain tiled roof and stands two storeys high on a plinth, with a dentilled brick eaves cornice and a hipped roof, which is half-hipped on the left side. There are three four-light leaded casements on each floor, with segmental heads on the ground floor. A six-panel door is located to the centre left, topped with a flat hood supported by brackets. To the right, there is a wrought iron sign bracket. The rear elevation includes several hipped wings that are tile hung, along with a catslide outshot. Inside, there is a partial frame, inglenook fireplaces, a bread oven, and an old brick floor in the rear kitchen and bar.
