Description
Parsonage House (No 35) and Penderel Court (No 37) are two old houses located on the north-west side of Ashford Road, dating from around 1715. They are nearly identical, each having two storeys and attics, constructed with a timber frame and faced with mathematical tiles. Both houses feature a wooden eaves cornice. No 35 has three dormers, while No 37 has two. No 37 is distinguished by long and short wooden quoins. The first floor of No 37 retains its glazing bars, and it also has two bay windows on the ground floor. No 35 features a doorcase with a flat hood above, a rectangular fanlight, and a six-panel moulded door. In contrast, No 37 has a doorcase with pilasters, a pediment, and a semi-circular fanlight of an unusual design. Together, Nos 31 to 37 (odd) form a cohesive group.
