Description

This is a group of three shop and house premises located on the south side of Bridge Street. The exterior dates to the 18th century, but there's an earlier timber-framed structure beneath. The building is timber-framed and faced with painted brick and painted tile hanging, topped by a plain tiled roof. It has two storeys and a basement, built on a plinth, with eaves supported by modillion brackets. The roof is hipped, with the east ridge stepping down to the left and right, and a central chimney stack. The first floor has four glazing bar sash windows. On the ground floor, there's a plate glass shop front with a recessed glazed door to the left, a 20-pane shop window to the right, a central panelled door with a pediment doorcase on pilasters, and three moulded steps with an iron rail. The central door has a rectangular fanlight. There’s also a basement opening to the left, and a single-storey extension to the left with a plate glass window.
