Description
Redbur is a house that dates from the 16th century or earlier, with cladding added in the 17th to 18th centuries and a late 20th-century extension. It has a timber frame that has been refaced with galleted ragstone, red brick dressings, and features tile hanging and exposed framing on the right return with brick infill. The roof is plain tiled. The house has a lobby entry plan and stands two storeys tall, featuring an end jetty on the right return, which rests on a ragstone plinth. The roof is hipped, with stacks at the end right rear and clustered to the centre left. On the first floor, there are two glazing bar sashes to the left and two wooden casements at uneven heights to the right. The ground floor has two glazing bar sashes and two wooden casements to the right, while the left end window bay is part of the 20th-century extension. There is a half-glazed door in the centre left with a segmental head. The rear range is tile hung with an outshot. Inside, the jettied right end bay retains its full interior frame and a stud partition to the main range, while the framing in other areas has been removed or enclosed.
