4/12 Young Manor Farmhouse 27.11.57 GV II

Manor House. C16, C17 and C18. Timber frame clad in red brick, and red brick in English bond, with plain tile roof. To left: hall house, now 2 storeys, framed and clad in early C18 in red brick; hipped roof with ridge stack centre left. To right: mid C17 cross wing. Two storeys and attic on plinth, double plat band to first floor, double plat band to attic, and string course over attic window, in stepped gable. Truncated projecting end stack to right. Irregular fenestration of C20 wooden casements, and C17 and C20 brick mullioned windows. C19 6 panelled door in shallow projecting surround and double chamfered 4 centred arch and jambs to centre right. Interior: Timber-frame of heavy scantling. Cross-wing is floored at higher level than hall. Hall with very high ceilings to ground floor rooms. Large stack with barrel-vaulted passage through to left end bay.
