Description

This is a terrace of twenty houses, numbered 1 to 20, built in the early 19th century, specifically around 1833. It is located on St James' Terrace. The terrace is a long run of houses, designed in groups of varying styles, often in pairs or groups of four. The architectural detailing is generally simple, with differing door and window treatments. Most windows are sash windows with glazing bars; some have French windows and balconies on the first floor. The doors are plain and panelled, and the roofs are slate. Numbers 1 to 4 feature paired Tuscan pilasters framing the doorways, topped with fanlights. Later 19th-century alterations include new windows and two-storey bay additions, along with paired pediments.
